1) Who will benefit from Strength Training?
At Body by Berle, members range in age from 12-90 years. In addition to burning extra calories, muscles add stability to the joints, protect from injury, increase bone density - warding off osteoporosis, and add shape & flexibility to the body.
2) Can I target reduce one area of my body?
This is impossible. When we lose weight we lose it from everywhere. The body works as a system, so as you are reducing your stomach, hips and thighs, your face, knees & toes are also slimming down!
3) Will Strength Training give a Woman big muscles?
Even with high intensity, or SuperSlow Strength Training,it is impossible for women to develop bulky masculine muscles. Women simply do not have enough of the male hormone testosterone for large muscles to develop. Women bodybuilders with large muscles usually take male hormones.
4) What about Cardiovascular Fitness?
Most folks assume that only aerobic exercise programs could achieve cardiovascular fitness. At Body By Berle Strength Training under the supervision of your own Personal Trainer enables one to move rapidly from one exercise to the next, the heart rate remains elevated to the target range for the whole workout, and a high level of Cardiovascular Fitness is achieved.
Those who complete 3 Body By Berle Personal Trainer supervised Strength Training Sessions each week need not do any additional Aerobic Training!

5) Which is safer - Aerobic Exercise or Strength Training?
Studies show that typical Aerobic Exercise carries a 75% risk of injury to connective tissues in the feet, ankles and knees. Strength Training performed under the supervision of a Personal Trainer with state of the art Nautilus equipment dramatically reduces the risk of exercise related injury.
6) How much Exercise do I need?
If done properly, only 2-3 exercise sessions per week are needed! Just as there is a certain amount of food that the body requires, there is a certain amount of exercise that is needed - too much or too little food OR exercise is not healthy for you! At Body By Berle we are so certain that this is true, even if Clients request it, we will not allow them to have more than 3 sessions per week!
7) Can I get my workouts done 2 or 3 days in a row?
No! The most important factor in achieving results from your workouts is the rest and recovery period. Muscle growth does not occur during your workout - the exercise triggers the muscle growth, but the actual process happens during rest. 48-72 hours between sessions is the recommended period of rest needed to enjoy the maximum benefit of your workout.
8) How can a Man get terrific abs?
In addition to building muscle through weight training, in order for those nice shapely muscles to be seen, we must reduce the body fat that covers them. An 8-12 percentage of body fat will show off those terrific abs that you have been working on!
9) How can Women achieve the hips, thighs, and buttocks that they want? Strength Training will improve your tone and shape, reducing your percentage of body fat to between 18-22% will show off your new shape!
10) Can Exercise reduce stress?
